Le George is a great place to splurge in Paris. I cannot say enough positive things about the service, the menu, and the overall experience.
Our meal started with an amuse bouche of tiny shrimp and parmesan crackers. We ordered the carpaccio with summer truffle as our appetizer. The olive focaccia was very good as well.
We ordered the tortellini with fresh mint and lemon and the veal agnolotti. The tortellini were the perfect summer pasta. The agnolotti was perfectly cooked with a rich flavor. We ordered the beef tagliata for our second course and it was cooked to perfection.
For dessert, I ordered the raspberry tarte, which was served with fresh cream, ice cream, and a shot of raspberry liqueur.
We ordered a bottle of Nebbiolo with assistance from the sommelier. It paired perfectly with our appetizers and pastas that we ordered a bottle of Brunello di Montalcino to pair with the steak. Both of the wines were exceptional.
This was a lovely way to end our trip in Paris, and we’re already looking forward to returning!
Great Michelin 1 Star restaurant. The service is outstanding and friendly.
The food s very good. We took the tasting menu and the flavors were great.
The Four Seasons in Paris will not disappoint. The property is located right in the heart of Paris and is in walking distance of many local attractions. The Eiffel Tower is also in walking distance. The hotel was impeccably clean. The hotel staff notably speaks many different languages to assist guest from all over the world. We stayed at the property in a suite for my 30th birthday and awoke each morning to Paris church bells (beautiful). The staff went out of their way to ensure that it was a birthday to remember.
Excellent restaurant in Paris with lovely atmosphere and service. The lunch menu is exceptional and the wine options terrific. The staff was very helpful and available but also discreet.
My friend and I were visiting Paris from the states at the end of may. We were on the waiting list for lunch at le George on a Saturday. As all the four season hotels, the decor is gorgeous with the amazing floral arrangements throughout the property. We decided to do the tasting menu. I believe it was around $140 pp. It was definitely a delightful and unique experience. The food was delicate but rich in flavor. Our service was impressive. We felt like royalty. I’ll certainly return.
Lovely setting inside the hotel with a view of a (Christmas-decorated) atrium. Staff is very competent - well trained and work as a team. I had the tasting menu, but found that food to be among the least underwhelming Michelin 1-stars I've visited.
Some things shined, like the pumpkin soup. Others, however, seemed uninspired (the veal chop Milanese - tender enough, but really not up to Michelin standards for the main feature on a tasting menu when it came to saucing or accompaniments (steamed vegetables)). Many dishes were overdone - the Hamachi crudo was killed by the lemon 'dressing' the chef used. The gloppy melted cheese course with a slice of bread grilled in the early afternoon was pretty bad - too strong and the cheese tasted virtually identical to what was in the stuffed tortellini a couple courses prior. Dessert didn't wow.
No pre-determined wine pairing to go with the tasting menu (which seemed a bit strange) but my waiter did come up with some nice glasses to go with the various courses, so I'm not complaining but just wondering why a wine pairing menu doesn't exist to go with the tasting menu, which is a pretty standard thing.
In any case, I go out to dine for the food principally - I figure wine, service and decor are never going to be that bad. In this case, the latter shined while the food was a bit of a letdown. I also should add that the hotel bar is not especially large and I had to jump through some hoops to get a seat for a cocktail before dinner. The drink was excellent, but cost $35...FWIW!
Enjoyed a beautiful dinner here on New Year’s Eve. The atmosphere is sophisticated and elegant, the staff are wonderful and alert. The food was nothing short than divine, with the scallops being my personal favourite of the evening. Highly recommended.
It was by far the best italian restaurant I’ve been to. We got octopus and carpaccio as starters, then red mullet risotto and milanese as main dish. They were all exceptional. The price was also definitely worth it!
